I have handcrafted this stunning blue necklace from a REAL Morpho Alexandrovna Butterfly wing (read below for more on how I obtain the wings!) expertly embedded under a large 1.2" x 1.6" magnified glass cabochon. The butterfly wing is set in your choice of an antique silver or bronze setting. You can choose between a short 18" chain or a long 30" chain. You may also choose to upgrade to .925 solid Sterling Silver chain! Each piece will arrive in its own custom gift bag with literature on the species of butterfly and a free die-cut sticker or magnet!

The Morpho Alexandrova Butterfly is a morpho species found in the amazon rainforest in countries such as Peru & Brazil. The wings are an intense iridescent metallic blue in color that changes depending on how the light hits them. The color in the butterfly's wings is caused by the diffraction of the light from millions of tiny scales on its wings. It uses this to frighten away predators, by flashing its wings rapidly.
