★ This gorgeous necklace is handmade from a REAL Blue Mountain Swallowtail Butterfly wing! (Please read below for more on how I ethically obtain the wings!) The butterfly wing is expertly embedded under a large 1.2" x 1.6" magnified glass cabochon set in your choice of silver tone, bronze/antique gold tone, or black gunmetal finish. You can also choose your chain length (short 18" or long 30"). Upgrades to a real Sterling silver chain also available in the drop down menu! :)

The Blue Mountain Swallowtail Butterfly (also known by its scientific name: Papilio ulysses) originates from Australia. The wings are black and a vibrant blue that turns from navy to teal depending on how the light hits it. (All wings sourced ethically and eco-friendly! See below!)

Each piece will arrive in its own custom gift bag with literature on the species of butterfly and a free die-cut sticker or magnet!

*NOTE* No Butterflies are harmed in the making of my jewelry! All butterflies are raised on butterfly farms and sanctuaries and allowed to live their full lifespan, which averages about 1 month, and then collected and sold so that their beauty can live on! Butterfly Farming actually helps to preserve rain forests and also assures the survival of natural butterfly habitats. Native people are encouraged to grow plants and raise insects opposed to clearing land for cash crops. I also support and donate to the Rainforest Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the Rainforest and the many species that live within it, including the Blue Morpho Butterfly!
