✨DETAILS✨🔽
★ This necklace is made with a REAL Battus Philenor Butterfly wing expertly embedded under magnified glass! (Read below for more on how I ethically obtain the wings!). This butterfly, also known as the "Pipevine Swallowtail", is a metallic steely blue with cute orange & black spots. These butterflies are found in the forests of North & Central America and feed on the flower nectar of lilacs, azaleas, bergamot, viper's bugloss, yellow star thistle, & wild ginger.
The butterfly wing is set in a vintage style antique gold setting with sparkling champagne colored Swarovski crystals! The pendant measures 1.5 x 1.1". The glass cabochon measures 30x22mm. Your choice of chain length, either 18" to rest on the upper chest (as pictured), or a long 30" chain to hang low.
Each piece will arrive in a custom gift pouch, ready to gift or keep, with literature on the species of butterfly and a free die-cut sticker or magnet!
*NOTE* No Butterflies are harmed in the making of my jewelry! All butterflies are raised on butterfly farms and sanctuaries and allowed to live their full lifespan, which averages about 1 month, and then collected and sold so that their beauty can live on! Butterfly Farming actually helps to preserve rain forests and also assures the survival of natural butterfly habitats. Native people are encouraged to grow plants and raise insects opposed to clearing land for cash crops.
