★ This gorgeous necklace is handmade from a real Papilio Maackii Butterfly wing (read below for more on how I ethically obtain the wings!) under a large 30x40"mm magnified glass cabochon.
★ The butterfly wing is set in your choice of an antique silver (as pictured), antique gold, or black filigree setting.

★ The Papilio Maackii Maackii Butterfly, also known as the Alpine Swallowtail, is found in Japan & China. The wings are a deep metallic dark green with waves of iridescent blue, teal, and purple.

★ The long chain measures approximately 30". If you would prefer your chain on a shorter 18" chain or a custom length, just write it in the "notes to seller" when you checkout! :)

★ Each piece comes in a custom gift pouch with literature on the species of butterfly, card cards, as well as a free die-cut sticker, ready for gifting!

*NOTE* No Butterflies are harmed in the making of my jewelry! All butterflies are ethically sourced from eco-freindlly butterfly farms & sanctuaries where their wings are collected after death to be recycled into jewelry so that their beauty can live on and to raise awareness about their species! The butterflies live their full lifespan, which averages 2-4 weeks. Butterfly Farming actually helps to preserve rain forests and also assures the survival of natural butterfly habitats. Native people are encouraged to grow plants and raise insects opposed to clearing land for cash crops.
