I have handcrafted this collage out of real butterfly wings! The large frame measures almost 2 feet x 2 feet (approximately 21” x 21”) and the collage contains 100 real *ethically sourced* butterfly wings to include Blue morphos, Monarchs, African Monarchs, Doxocopa Cherubina, Erasmia Pulchera, Salamis Parhassus butterflies and more, all arranged into a kaleidoscope formation! The artwork is mounted on a textured cream background with a white mat border and your choice of a black or white frame. You may also choose regular glass or an upgrade to special museum grade UV protective glass.

*NOTE* No Butterflies are harmed in the making of my jewelry! All butterflies are raised on butterfly farms and sanctuaries and allowed to live their full lifespan, which averages about 1 month, and then collected and sold so that their beauty can live on! Butterfly Farming actually helps to preserve rain forests and also assures the survival of natural butterfly habitats. Native people are encouraged to grow plants and raise insects opposed to clearing land for cash crops. I am a member of and donate to the Rainforest Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the Rainforest and the many species that live within it, including the Blue Morpho Butterfly!

*Depending on the season, the Salamis Parhassu wings (the 8 beige wings along the outside of the artwork) may be replaced with a very similar looking wing, Morpho Selenaris, instead. They are similar looking wings and there isn’t a very noticeable difference. The overall appearance of the artwork will look the same :)
