★ I have created this stunning necklace from two REAL Madagascar Sunset Moth wings layered one on top of the another and expertly embedded under a large magnified glass cabochon (Please read below for more on how I ethically obtain the wings!).
★ Large magnified glass cabochon measures 1.2" x 1.6".
★ The butterfly wing is set in your choice of a silver plated, bronze or black gunmetal.
★ Chains come in your choice of short 18" or long 30" and an upgrade to a REAL .925 Sterling Silver chain is also available!
★ Each piece will arrive in its own custom logo drawstring gift pouch with literature on the species of butterfly and a free die-cut sticker, ready for gifting!

★ The Madagascar Sunset Moth (also known by its scientific name: Urania Rhipheus) is considered the most beautiful and colorful moth on earth, previously mistaken for a butterfly by scientists due to their vivid iridescent colors and day-flying behavior. It’s bright assortment of colors is a warning to predators that it is poisonous if eaten. These moths are found throughout the calendar year all over the island of Madagascar. The native Malagasy people call them "lolonandriana" meaning "noble spirit" or "spirit butterfly".

★ NOTE: No Butterflies are harmed in the making of my jewelry! All butterflies are raised on butterfly farms and sanctuaries and allowed to live their full lifespan, which averages about 1 month, and then collected and sold so that their beauty can live on! Butterfly Farming actually helps to preserve rain forests and also assures the survival of natural butterfly habitats. Native people are encouraged to grow plants and raise insects opposed to clearing land for cash crops. I am a member of and donate to the Rainforest Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the Rainforest and the many species that live within it, including the Blue Morpho Butterfly!
