Real Morpho Butterfly Round Bracelet

★ I have handcrafted this gorgeous bracelet from a REAL Morpho Sulkowski Butterfly Wing (read below for more on how I ethically obtain the wings!) expertly embedded under a large 30mmx30mm magnified glass cabochon and set in your choice of an antique silver (as pictured), antique gold, yellow gold, rose gold, or gunmetal cuff bracelet.

The Morpho Sulkowski Butterfly, also known as the “holograph morpho” or the “pearl morpho”, is rather rare and found only in Peru. The wings are a brilliantly iridescent pearl color that shimmers in shades of lavender to light blue to yellow depending on how the light hits them. The color in the butterfly's wings is caused by the diffraction of the light from millions of tiny scales on its wings. It uses this to frighten away predators, by flashing its wings rapidly.

Each piece will arrive in its own gift pouch with literature on the species of butterfly!

All butterflies are raised on butterfly farms and sanctuaries and allowed to live their full lifespan, which averages about 1 month, and then collected and sold so that their beauty can live on! Butterfly Farming actually helps to preserve rain forests and also assures the survival of natural butterfly habitats. Native people are encouraged to grow plants and raise insects opposed to clearing land for cash crops.
