The wing is then embedded under a magnified glass teardrop measuring 18x25mm and set in your choice of silver plated, gold plated, rose gold plated, bronze, or gunmetal. Pendants come on an 18" chain in matching metal color. You may choose your chain finish: Real .925 Sterling Silver or Silver plated, Real 14K Gold filled or Gold plated, Real 14K Rose gold filled or Rose gold plated, Bronze, or Gunmetal. Finally, you may choose your chain style, bead, link, or cable. All chains are shown in the 6th photo. Necklace comes in a custom gift pouch with a free die-cut sticker or magnet! The Morpho Helena Butterfly is a very rare & therefore expensive species found in Northern South America. Its wings are an extremely metallic blue with a stunning circular white pattern. The color in the butterfly's wings is caused by the diffraction of light from millions of tiny scales on its wings. It uses this to frighten away predators, by flashing its wings rapidly.

*NOTE* No Butterflies are harmed in the making of my jewelry! All butterflies are raised on butterfly farms and sanctuaries and allowed to live their full lifespan, which averages about 1 month, and then collected and sold so that their beauty can live on! Butterfly Farming actually helps to preserve rain forests and also assures the survival of natural butterfly habitats. Native people are encouraged to grow plants and raise insects opposed to clearing land for cash crops.
