✨DETAILS✨🔽
★ The brilliant blue iridescence of the Morpho Alexandrovna Butterfly is simply amazing! This dazzling necklace is handmade from a REAL Morpho Alexandrovna Butterfly wing under a large magnified glass cabochon. The glass cabochon measures 30x22mm. The butterfly wing is set in a vintage style antique gold setting.

The Morpho Alexandrova Butterfly is a morpho species found in the amazon rainforest in countries such as Peru & Brazil. The wings are an intense iridescent metallic blue in color that changes depending on how the light hits them. The color in the butterfly's wings is caused by the diffraction of the light from millions of tiny scales on its wings. It uses this to frighten away predators, by flashing its wings rapidly.

The Chain measures approximately 18 inches and is meant to rest on the upper chest (as pictured). If you would prefer your pendant on a long 30 inch chain that hangs down low, just message me and I can switch it out. (Or if you would prefer to measure yourself and let me know exactly how long you would like your chain, I will be happy to make a custom length chain just for you.)

Each piece will arrive in its own custom gift bag with literature on the species of butterfly and a free die-cut ticket or magnet!

*NOTE* No Butterflies are harmed in the making of my jewelry! All butterflies are raised on butterfly farms and sanctuaries and allowed to live their full lifespan, which averages about 1 month, and then collected and sold so that their beauty can live on! Butterfly Farming actually helps to preserve rain forests and also assures the survival of natural butterfly habitats. Native people are encouraged to grow plants and raise insects opposed to clearing land for cash crops. I also support and donate to the Rainforest Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the Rainforest and the many species that live within it, including the Blue Morpho Butterfly!
