Labradorite is a semi-precious feldspar mineral mainly found in Canada & Norway. Labradorite can appear dark gray from some angles, but when turned to other angles, it has an amazing iridescent rainbow "flash" or "labradorescence" running thru it. This iridescence is caused by the diffraction of light passing thru tiny micro fractures in the crystal's many layers.

Old Eskimo myths and legends have been told about labradorite and the creation of the Aurora Borealis. The legend goes that the Northern Lights were once stuck inside rocks along the coast until a warrior freed them by hitting the rocks with a spear, leaving behind labradorite. Many people regard labradorite as a stone of good luck and believe that it can work as a muse to help unlock trapped creativity.
