★ The Morpho Rhetenor Butterfly is one of the most beautiful butterflies in the world! This gorgeous pendant necklace is made from a REAL Morpho Rhetenor wing! (All butterflies are sourced ethically & eco-friendly! Read below!) The Morpho Rhetenor ranges from a deep intense royal blue to an Aqua blue. The wings shimmer and change hue depending on the angle and how the light hits them. The iridescence and brilliance of these wings are quite shocking and really have to be seen to be believed! The necklace is handmade from a REAL Butterfly wing under a large magnified glass cabochon. The glass cabochon measures 30x22mm. The butterfly wing is set in your choice of an antique gold (as pictured), antique silver, or gunmetal vintage style setting with sparkling blue Swarovski crystals.

The Morpho Rhetenor Butterfly (also known as the "Blue Atlas Morpho") is a rare morpho species found in the amazon rainforest in countries such as Peru & Brazil. The wings are an intense iridescent metallic blue in color that changes depending on how the light hits them. The color in the butterfly's wings is caused by the diffraction of the light from millions of tiny scales on its wings. It uses this to frighten away predators, by flashing its wings rapidly.

The Chain measures approximately 18" and is meant to rest on the upper chest (as pictured). If you would prefer your pendant on a long 30" chain that hangs down low, or would prefer a custom length, just write it in the comments when you check out! :)
